Benjamin Cook

He's really easy to spot in a crowd, especially at a YouTube gathering. All you have to do is spot fire-engine red hair and you've probably found Ben Cook.

Ben is a nice lad from England with a lip ring, a good sense of humor, and a video-making passion.
His channel, ninebrassmonkeys, has over 165,000 subscribers as of now and serves as a platform for his projects of a documentary that tries to cover nearly every aspect of YouTube to be addressed. His first installment of BecomingYouTube has well over half a million views. The twelve 20-30 minute episodes include the issue's address, interviews with popular youtubers, skits, and even singing sometimes...well once. [The song is available on itunes with proceeds going to charity.]

In addition to the episodes that were originally promised to be released weekly but actually took a year to completely publish, ninebrassmonkeys also includes bonus footage from the series like a special interview with Tom 'TomSka on asdfmovie!'

BecomingYouTube has been  great success. I sincerely wish I had made it to the panel about it at PlaylistLive like I had wanted to, however I did attend two other different panels with Ben in which he said he has three big, new projects coming up in the near future.
He was also a big part of the production of the short film Project: Library that came out last October.

Ben's documentary is very well made and thought-provoking. I guarantee you that watching BecomingYouTube will not be a waste of time.

Here is a very sunny picture of us at PlayList
